The Chinese theme of this year’s World Environment Day is “Beautiful China, I am an Actor”, which aims to encourage all sectors of society and the public to actively participate in the construction of ecological civilization and work together to build a beautiful China with blue sky, green land and clear water. General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to environmental construction and protection. The report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly stated that we should accelerate the reform of the ecological civilization system, build a beautiful China, and build our country into a prosperous, democratic, civilized, harmonious and beautiful modern socialist country. For the first time, the word “beautiful” was included in the goal of building a modern and powerful socialist country in an all-round way. This year’s government work report stated, “We must work together to build a beautiful China with blue sky, green land and clear water.” The Tianjin Municipal Government issued the “Tianjin Port Management Regulations on the Prevention and Control of Ship Pollution” in the form of Order No. 1 in 2018.
The earth is our common home for survival and development, and the ecological environment is the basis for human development. With the deepening of global economic modernization and the continuous advancement of industrial civilization, environmental problems have become increasingly prominent. Various energy consumption and pollution emissions have increasingly endangered the earth’s ecological balance and the foundation of human survival. Caring for the environment requires the joint participation of each of us, and Tianjin’s blue sea and blue sky require the efforts and dedication of each of us. “Promoting green life and building a low-carbon future” is a long-term and arduous task to improve the living environment and benefit future generations.
According to the provisions of the Tianjin Municipal Government’s Order No. 1 in 2018, the Tianjin Ship Pollution Prevention Association will give full play to the respective advantages of the association members in ship pollution prevention and control, and undertake our tasks in the research, management and control, prevention and emergency cleanup of ship pollution.
